Train booking tips: Trains in
Turkey are not the most popular way of travelling, however, there are
a couple of good overnight sleeper alternatives to the buses;
Istanbul-Pamukkale / Istanbul-Ankara.
The trains leaving for Europe depart from Sirkeci Station. The trains
departing for destinations in the Asian part of Turkey leave from
Haydarpasa Station. Tickets can be purchased from either station. |

Bus booking tips: Intercity
and international buses can be booked at travel agencies or
hotels/hostels. Some provide transfer buses to the bus station. You
can catch public transport to the bus station. From Sultanahmet catch
the tram up the hill to Aksaray. Then get the metro (near the tram
stop, just ask) to the bus station. The bus station has roughly 200
companies, so it can be a little overwhelming. |
